Our story

Construction on Grand Central Coffee Station began September 2003; however, the idea had been in construction for many years. We were living in Richland, Wash., and were surrounded by coffeehouses and coffee shops on every corner.

Originally from Storm Lake, we knew our hometown would be a great location for a drive-thru coffeehouse. We planned a trip to Storm Lake to support our relatives during their farm equipment auction and decided it would be a good chance to invest time and energy into our dream of owning a coffeehouse.

After looking at several locations, we picked a corner lot on a main road leading to the hospital, courthouse and university. The deal on the property was signed before we left Storm Lake (we also had signed the deal to close on selling our house when we returned to Richland!).
